Steve Neale
This theorist is apart of genre theory and he believes in repetition and difference. Repetition is a huge part of this theory because he believes that audiences like familiarity because it is easy to understand. This could include things like:: colour and setting . This conforms = kept original.
The other part to his theory is how differences in film affect the audience, it helps them to better engage with the plot and to take notice.
This means it subverts normal film styles = twists expectations.

How companies are owned and how they are run/structured. They are all dominated by a small number of a giant conglomerates
Conglomerates= a corporation (group of companies/independent businesses)
Everything is dominated by the Big 5 and they are all about money and power.
For example: The News - The Times - News Corp - Fox (etc)
Concentrated ownership = lack of choice, lots of the same product (Fast and Furious)
Independent ownership = more choice and more diverse

Stuart Hall
(Recption theory)
This theory is remembered by: how we receive the message.
This theory is basically 3 ways about stretching the truth from the "intended message"
Dominant = the strongest and whether we believe it quickly or not (media pushed on us everyday)
Negotiated = questioning our opinion and what to believe (most healthy)
Oppositional = where the audience doesn't believe what they are being told
