Reflection on advert:

We chose to do a scratch card advert based in an exam hall. We were instructed to re-create the advert as closely as possible to the costumes, script, setting and camera work.

On day 1: we decided to find the setting and get all of the costumes/props so that we could assign it to the main characters and know how to set everything up. We also decided to film the last half with only the student and the teacher since it only needed 2 people and everything was set up already.
On day 2: we set up the main hall and gathered a few friends (10 including teacher and main student) to film all of the other shots we needed. All of the friends we gathered didn't have any lines since they were playing background students

I filmed everything on my phone but then uploaded it only Premier Pro 2022 Abode so that I could cut all of the shots down and also add the logo/video we were originally following. Overall, I used the razor tool - mainly - and a dissolve effect for the logo right at the end of the advert. I learnt how to lengthen a clip by slowing it down.
The biggest obstacle was when it got the editing and getting all of the cuts right to the video, but we also missed a few short key shots so it was hard to work around that but we managed. Yet overall, the filming and set up didn't take too long and everyone was very cooperative but I would change the setting to go into a more gym like environment but where we were filming there was no free time since PE were always using it.

Snow White and Shang Chi video's. (My own and all together)
We were given the task to write a script to 2 different interviews. This interview had to include facts about the pre- and post-production for both Snow White and Shang Chi. This fits with our exam learning because when it comes to revising all of our notes and key points are compressed down into a video that we can watch. This makes it more exciting and easier to remember.
Since there were 4 people, we split into 2 groups and chose 1 from Snow White and the other from Shang Chi. Harry and I chose pre-production for Snow White and post production for Shang Chi meaning that Renie and Zach had the opposite. We helped to film each other’s and get the camera angle right but switched up post and pre-production for each group and film so we could explore different variety of things to ask each other during the interview.
I definitely would find it useful for revision because between all 4 interview videos we have all of the information we need, even including the trailers. We used the notes we made in class and out research of facts (like German expressionism) We did a lot of research when speaking about the number of artists employed and how much the Box Office made, we also watched a few scenes (regarding Shang Chi) so that we know which scenes are more intense from others.
Our interviews were fairly successful because all of the facts we needed are in each video and they were spoken about separately and in enough detail to revise from. I really like the interview but the only thing I would change is the acting and the needed small talk at the start and right after the trailer ends. If I had the chance to do it again, I would add about the 1st ever trailer where Walt Disney was talking about and introducing all the Dwarfs and the technology used to then also link that in much easier rather than leaving it out.
I have learnt from this task how to: edit/cut/add clips, layer up sound, video transition. I have also learnt how to work together with my peers and listen to their suggestions but also helping them out with things they are stuck with. That also includes giving my opinion and asking for their opinion.
This first video is purely the pre-production of Snow White 1937.
